I’m currently the only woman on my team… we’re training the first-ever all-female Solar engineering team in Africa.

What is something you wish you knew before starting your business?

That engineering would do better with more females. I started off feeling like an outcast at the beginning.

Would you advise other people to start businesses or invest in Africa? Please also share the drawbacks.

Investment in Africa requires loads of determination and cultural acclimatisation.

What’s the biggest piece of advice you can give to other Africans looking to start-up?

Just start. Start, study and it doesn’t matter if you’re the first, or no one in your industry looks like you. If they can use your value in the back room, you can rewrite the rhetoric and outlook of any industry.

What’s the biggest piece of advice you can give to other Africans in the diaspora?

Only Africans can build Africa. We need your voices here and wherever you are.
